ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner, apprehending arrest at the hands of the respondent Police, in connection with a case in Crime No.128 of 2024, for the offence punishable under Sections 6(4) of Tamil Nadu Scheduled Commodities (RTCS) Order 1982 r/w 7(i)(a)(ii) of Essential Commodities Act 1955, has filed this petition seeking anticipatory bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner along with other accused has illegally transported forty two bags of rice collected from the beneficiaries under the Public Distribution System in a four wheeler, bearing registration No.TN 63 BS 3840. Hence, the case.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent Police submits that four previous cases are pending against the petitioner and the 2/4

accused have illegally transported 1680 kilogram of rice, which is worth about Rs.62,000/-.

5. Considering the bad antecedent of the petitioner this Court is not inclined to grant any relief to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.

6.The respondent police is directed to secure the petitioner as expeditiously as possible.
