Respondents PRAYER: This Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first to third respondents to permit the petitioner to conduct the "Krishna Jayanthi" Festival at Poothangudi village from 01.09.2018 to 03.09.2018 and consequently directing the fourth respondent to give necessary Police protection for that days by consider the petitioner's representation dated 13.08.2018. ORDER

Mr.B.Bhagawathi, learned Government Advocate, takes notice for the respondents.

2. By consent of both the parties, the main Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission.

3. This Writ Petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents 1 to 3 for permitting the petitioner to conduct "Krishna Jayanthi" Festival at Poothangudi Village from 01.09.2018 to 03.09.2018.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents on instructions would submit that a Peace Committee Meeting was held before the third respondent. It was agreed by the parties that all the parties will be permitted to participate and conduct the Krishna Jayanthi Festival at Poothangudi Village.

5. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would further submit that in view of the settlement arrived before the third respondent, the petitioner will also be permitted to conduct the Krishna Jayanthi Festival.

6. Recording the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate, this Writ Petition is disposed of directing the fourth respondent to permit the petitioner to conduct the Krishna Jayanthi Festival at Poothangudi Village from 01.09.2018 to 03.09.2018, by providing sufficient Police protection to the entire festival. It is made clear that the persons belonging to the entire village will be permitted to conduct the festival and no discrimination will be shown to any of the parties by giving preference to anyone while conducting the festival. No costs.
