Respondents Prayer: Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to direct the respondents to grant permission and protection to perform Kabadi tournament from 09.10.2020 at 08.00 pm to 11.10.2020 at 08.00 pm and the Kabadi tournament in the festival event of "Suthandira Paravai and 7 ilam Chittu jointly conducted 4th year Kabadi tournament" situated at Anna Thidal South Street Peruvanallur, Lalgudi Taluk, Trichy District pursuant to the representation dated 30.09.2020.

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents. 2.The petitioner wants to conduct Kabadi Tournament from 09.10.2020 to 11.10.2020.

3.The petitioner counsel states that during last three years, they have successfully conducted the tournament and that they did not witness any untoward incident.

4.The learned Government Advocate voiced his strong objection to the prayer made in the writ petition. According to him, there is possibility of communal tension breaking out. 5.When I questioned the learned Government Advocate, he fairly stated that no issue will occur from the side of the organizers. W.P.(MD)No.14034 of 2020 spectators, problems will arise. But then, that cannot be a ground of objection. If the spectators behave in an unruly fashion, certainly, the second respondent is at liberty to initate any stringent action against them. Anticipating trouble from third parties, the legitimate rights of the petitioner cannot be stifled. 6.The petitioner gives an undertaking that he will abide by any condition that may be imposed by the second respondent. Recording the said undertaking given by the petitioner, I direct the second respondent to permit the petitioner to hold the event from this evening. I reiterate that the respondent will be entitled to stipulate any conditions to ensure the smooth conduct of the event. This writ petition stands allowed accordingly. No costs.
