[Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.] The writ on hand has been instituted to direct the official respondents to remove the seventh respondent from her Vice 2/5

President post as well as III ward member of the fifth respondent and consequently recover a sum of Rs.5,00,000/- from the seventh respondent for the theft of Veli Karuvelam trees from Petchipuram Tank, Arasinipatti and Arasaneri Keelamedu Village, Sivagangai Taluk and District.

2. The learned Government Pleader appearing on behalf of respondents 1 to 3 would submit that the tenure of the post of Vice President has already expired and nothing survives in this writ petition.

3. Recording the submission made by the learned Government Pleader, this Writ Petition is dismissed as infructuous. However, there shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
