PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 6th respondent to assign a Door Number and assess to House Tax for the dwelling house constructed in petitioner's property in S.F. Heard Ms. R. Karthika, learned counsel for the petitioner; Ms. P.B. Ahamed Yasmin Parvin, learned Government Advocate, who accepts notice on behalf of respondents 1 to 5; and Mr. P. Subbaraj, learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice on behalf of the sixth respondent.
2.The petitioner has approached this Court seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the 2/6
representation dated 24.03.2026.
3.In the said representation, the petitioner sought allotment of a door number and assessment of the dwelling house constructed in Survey No. 268/1A situated at Gopalasamudram Village, Cheranmahadevi Taluk, Tirunelveli District. The grievance of the petitioner is that, despite receipt of the said representation, the respondents have not acceded to the petitioner's request.
4.Mr. P. Subbaraj, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the sixth respondent, on instructions, submitted that the petitioner's representation dated 24.03.2026 would be considered on merits by the sixth respondent within the time frame fixed by this Court. The said submission is taken on record.
5.In view of the above, the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the sixth respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 24.03.2026 on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law.

6.The aforesaid exercise shall be completed within a period of six
(6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 7.There shall be no order as to costs.
