PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of mandamus directing the first respondent to grant permission to conduct Manjuvirattu cultural event on 21.07.2024 from morning 7.00 a.m., to evening 05.00 p.m., in Sri Manthaiyamman Temple at V.Kalpulichanpatti Village, Vikkiramangalam Post, Usilampatti Taluk of Madurai District, based on the representation of the petitioner dated 29.05.2024. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, learned Government Pleader for the first respondent and learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondents 2 to 4.

2. The petitioner seeks permission for conducting the petition mentioned event.

3. The learned Government Pleader for the first respondent raised certain objections.

4. Without going into the merits of the matter, we direct the first respondent to take a call on the petitioner's request. The first respondent shall pass an order on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, which shall also be immediately communicated to the petitioner.
