Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus calling for the records relating to the impugned order passed by the respondent and communicated through online and quash the same and consequently, directing the respondent to issue call letter to the petitioner to attend the physical test.

O R D E R

The petitioner has filed this writ petition as against his rejection and for a consequential direction to the respondent to permit him to participate in the next phase of selection, ie., the physical efficiency test.

2.It appears that this Court, by interim order dated 09.10.2020, has directed the respondent to permit the petitioner to participate in the physical efficiency test.

W.P(MD)No.14084 of 2020 3.Learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the respondent, on instructions, submitted that pursuant to the order of this Court, the petitioner was permitted to attend the physical efficiency test conducted on 10.10.2020. Even then, the petitioner has not secured the required cut-off marks. The petitioner has secured 47.5 marks in the written test and physical efficiency test, whereas, the last selected candidate has secured 48.5 marks. Therefore, the petitioner was not selected for the subsequent phase of selection for the post of Sub-Inspector of Police. 4.The aforesaid submission made by the learned Additional Advocate General stands recorded.

Since the prayer in the writ petition itself is for permitting the petitioner to participate in the physical efficiency test, which has already been granted and availed by the petitioner, no further order is required to be passed in this writ petition. Accordingly, the same is closed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions stand closed.

In view of the present lock down owing to COVID-19 pandemic, a web copy of the order may be utilized for official purposes, but, ensuring that the copy of the order that is presented is the correct copy, shall be the responsibility of the advocate/litigant concerned.
