O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed, seeking a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 14.06.2017 to refund the deposit amount paid by the petitioner.

2. Mr.R.Prabu Ramachandran, learned Standing Counsel, takes notice for the 1st respondent. Mr.Mr.J.Gunaseelan Muthiah, learned Government Advocate, takes notice for the 2nd respondent. By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

4. The petitioner is one of the approved Contractors of the 1st respondent Corporation and he has been doing civil works for the Corporation. The grievance of the petitioner is that refund of deposit amount in respect of a work allotted by the 1st respondent has been pending for the last several years. Despite he made a representation, dated 14.06.2017 to the respondents, no steps have been taken to refund the deposit amount, which is due to the petitioner. Hence, he has filed this writ petition.

Under such circumstances, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 14.06.2017 and pass appropriate orders, on its own merits and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
