ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner to celebrate the 1st day of the Temple Festival of Shri Alagupaarvathi Amman Thirukovil of Surandai Village, Tenkasi District by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 14.04.2026.

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents submitted that the rival group is also claiming the right to conduct the temple festival on the same day.

3. Heard the learned counsel on either sides and carefully perused the materials placed before this Court.

4. In view of the same, the third respondent police is directed to put the petitioner group and the rival group on notice under Section 64 of the BNSS, 2/4

conduct an enquiry and facilitate the conduct of temple festival by the petitioner and rival parties by arriving at a consensus between them.

5. This writ petition is disposed with the above directions. 24.04.2026 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No sm Note: Issue order copy on 24.04.2026.
