O R D E R

The writ petition is for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to grant permission to perform the cultural activities of "Virattu Manjuvirattu" on 06.08.2017 at Arulmigu Sri Nambunachiyar Thirukovil is situated at Pidarampatti, Ponnamaravathy Taluk, Pudukkottai District and to provide adequate police protection based on the petitioner's representation dated 24.07.2017.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 and 2.

The learned Special Government Pleader, on instruction, submitted that the respondent police have no serious objections. Hence, this Court is inclined to give following directions:

i) The respondents are directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 24.07.2017 and to grant permission to the petitioner to conduct the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

cultural activities of 'Virattu Manjuvirattu' on 06.08.2017 subject to any reasonable restriction which is required to maintain law and order, public tranquility and communal harmony. The restrictions may be on the basis of assessment of the nature of event organized by the petitioner.

4. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
