: Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the Respondents herein, particularly the Respondents 3 to consider petitioner application under 20 percent reservation on PSTM basis in the departmental quota for the post of Sub Inspectors (Taluk, AR and TSP) in the Joint recruitment of Sub Inspectors of Police (Taluk, AR and TSP), Station Officers, Fire and Rescue Service Department, 2023 within the specific time frame.

O R D E R
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the third respondent to consider the petitioner's application under 20 percent reservation on PSTM basis in the departmental quota for the post of Sub Inspectors (Taluk, AR and TSP) in the Joint recruitment of SubInspectors of Police (Taluk, AR and TSP), Station Officers, Fire and Rescue Service Department, 2023 within the stipulated time frame. 2/6
2. Heard the learned counsel for the parties. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3.The petitioner, a Police Constable recruited by the Uniformed Services Recruitment Board, submitted an application for the joint recruitment of Sub-Inspectors of Police (Taluk, AR, and TSP) and Station Officers in the Fire and Rescue Services Department - 2013, under the 20% reservation for serving personnel, as per the notification published by the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board. The petitioner contends that he is eligible for the 20% departmental quota reservation on a PSTM basis for the aforementioned posts. However, his application has not been considered by the respondents to date. Aggrieved by this inaction, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.
4. In response, Mr.Veerakathiravan, learned Additional Advocate General appearing on behalf of the respondents, submitted that the petitioner may be permitted to submit a fresh representation to the third respondent, detailing the issues raised in the present writ petition. 3/6
Upon receipt of such representation, the third respondent will pass appropriate orders in accordance with law.

In view of the submissions made by both parties, this Court directs the petitioner to submit a fresh representation to the third respondent, citing all the grounds raised in this writ petition, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of the said representation, the third respondent shall pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording a fair hearing to the petitioner within a period of two months, thereafter. It is also made clear that this Court has not expressed any of its views with regard to the merits of the matter and that it is open to the third respondent to consider the same on its own merits.
6. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions is closed. 05.06.2025 Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes / No PKN 4/6
