ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to issue passport to the petitioner in application File No.TR2077486326725, based on the petitioner's representation, dated 26.04.2025.

2. The learned Government Advocate for respondents 2 to 4 submits that the petitioner is an accused in a criminal case registered under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code and the City Police Act and pursuant to the FIR filed before respondents 3 and 4, a charge sheet has been filed against the petitioner and the trial has commenced. It is further admitted by the learned Government Advocate for respondents 2 to 4 that although the charge sheet has been prepared in respect of the FIR registered before the second respondent, it has not yet been filed.

3. Be that as it may, since the trial has already commenced in the other two cases, the question of granting any relief to the petitioner by this Court does not arise. However, it is open to the petitioner to approach the concerned Magistrate's Court for appropriate relief, in accordance with the provisions of the Passports Act, 1967.

4. The writ petition stands dismissed with the above liberty.
