This writ petition has been filed, seeking a direction to the respondent to process the petitioner's application to re-issue the passport pending with the respondent in File No.TR.1079455905316 and issue a valid passport.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing for the respondent. 3.The case of the petitioner is that he was working in United Kingdom from the year 2007 to 2015 and at that time, he https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ misplaced his passport and therefore, he applied for issuance of a

passport in Indian Embassy at London and he was also issued with a temporary passport. After he came down to India, the petitioner has given an application to the respondent to re-issue his passport and the same was taken on file. Since no action was taken till date on the application of the petitioner, the petitioner is before this Court with the above prayer.

4.The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent submitted that if a reasonable time is granted to the respondent, the application of the petitioner will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed.

5.In view of the said submission, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the respondent to consider the application of the petitioner pending in File No.TR.1079455905316, for re-issuance of passport, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner. 6.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, WMP(MD)No.1154 of 2017 is closed.
