O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] Today, Mr.G.Selvakumar, Inspector of Police, Peraiyur Circle, Madurai District, is present.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that his wife Deepa, aged about 27 years, went missing since 21.09.2018 along with his three years old child Madhan Kumar and hence, the present habeas corpus petition has been filed.

3. The Inspector of Police, Peraiyur Circle, Madurai District,

has filed a status report, dated 19.01.2019, wherein it is stated that on the complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Saptur Police Station Crime No.146 of 2018 has been registered for woman and boy missing on 29.09.2018 and investigation is in progress.

4. In the status report, the steps that are being taken by the Police to trace the petitioner's wife Deepa and son Madhan Kumar have been detailed. It is also stated that Deepa had developed illegal intimacy with one Chellapandian, son of Selvaraj, residing at Melapatti, Peraiyur and eloped with him. It is also represented that Chellapandian was already married to one Nandhini and Nandhini has also given a complaint, based on which a case in Peraiyur Police Station Crime No.176 of 2018 for man missing has been registered and investigation is in progress.

5. Since the petitioner's wife Deepa and son Madhan Kumar are not in the illegal detention of anyone, the habeas corpus petition is closed with a direction to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Peraiyur Sub-Division, to monitor the investigation in Crime Nos.146 of 2018 and 176 of 2018 that are being conducted by the Inspectors of Police, Saptur Police Station and Peraiyur Police Station respectively and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any, from time to time.
