O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed, seeking a direction to the 2nd respondent to pay the petitioner a sum of Rs.5,00,000/-as compensation and Rs.3,000/- per month as monthly maintenance from 25.11.2011 as per the judgment of the learned III Additional District and Sessions Court, Madurai rendered in Spl.C.C.No.8 of 2013 dated 10.02.2017.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final final disposal.

3. The case of the petitioner is that her daughter had committed suicide consequent to the humiliation met out at hands of some accused persons and the learned III Additional District https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

and Sessions Court, Madurai, while convicting the accused persons, had directed the State represented by the District Collector, Madurai to pay a compensation of Rs.5,00,000/- and a sum of Rs.3,000/- as maintenance amount from 25.11.2017 to the family members of the deceased. Since no compensation has been paid till now, as ordered by the Court, the petitioner has submitted a representation dated 27.02.2017 to the respondents 1 & 2, followed by a reminder dated 09.06.2017 and pursuant to the inaction on the part of the respondents even thereafter, the petitioner is before this Court with the above prayer.

The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the 2nd respondent is the competent authority to pass orders in this matter and the 3rd respondent is the implementing authority. If a reasonable time is granted to the respondents 2 & 3, the representation of the petitioner will be considered and suitable orders passed on it.

5. Such being the case, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 27.02.2017, followed by the reminder dated 09.06.2017 and pass appropriate orders thereon on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, in the light of the judgment of the learned III Additional District and Sessions Court, Madurai passed in Spl.C.C.No.8 of 2013 dated 10.02.2017 and the same has to be implemented by the 3rd respondent thereafter forthwith.

6. With the above direction, this petition is disposed of. No costs.
