ORDER

This criminal original petition has been filed seeking for a direction to direct the respondent Police to expedite the investigation in Crime No. 508 of 2018 on the file of the Inspector of Police, Kottampatti Police Station, Kottampatti, Madurai District and to file the final report.

2. The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner was cheated by one Ramamoorthi. The said Ramamoorthi assured the petitioner that he would get a Government job in the Forest Department. Being satisfied with his words, the petitioner paid the amount of Rs.2,00,000/- (Rupees Two Lakhs only) to the accused Ramamoorthi. Since the said person not acted accordingly, the petitioner demanded to return his money. But, the said Ramamoorthy refused to return the money. In this regard, the petitioner lodged a complaint before the respondent Police and an F.I.R was registered in Crime No.508 of 2018 dated 16.12.2018 for the offence under Section 420 IPC. Since the respondent Police has not completed the investigation and has not filed a final report, this Criminal Original Petition has been filed.

The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) submitted that based on the complaint lodged by the petitioner, the respondent police registered an FIR in Crime No.508 of 2018 and for the same, investigation is in progress. Hence, he seeks three months time to file final report before the jurisdictional Magistrate Court.

4. Recording the same, the respondent police is directed to file final report before the jurisdictional Magistrate Court, within a period of three (3) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this criminal original petition stands disposed of.
