The petitioner has come forward with the Writ Petition for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to give police protection on 07.08.2017, during the time of "Aadi Meeting" at Sri Pathirakaliamman Temple, Srivilliputhur, Virudhunagar District by considering the petitioner's complaint dated 20.07.2017.
2. Heard Mr.M.Solaisamy, learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.A.K.Baskara Pandian, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.
3. The petitioner has stated that he is the present President of Perumalpatti Nadar Uravinmurai, Srivilliputhur, Virudhunagar District. He also submitted that the previous office bearers of the society swindled and a criminal case was also registered in Crime https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
No.541 of 2016. Since due to the illegal activities of the previous office bearers, the petitioner stated that he has strong apprehension that problem will be created, when the Aadi Meeting of the Society as proposed is convened. The learned counsel for the petitioner stated that during the Aadi meeting, the swindling of the previous office bearers, as stated by the audit report will be discussed and the election of the new Office Bearers will be decided.
4.In this circumstances, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's case, this Court is inclined to pass the following directions:
5.The respondent police is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 20.07.2017 and pass appropriate orders on merits subject to any reasonable restrictions that is required to maintain law and order and communal harmony. This Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. No Costs.
