*********** [Order of the Court was made by G.R.SWAMINATHAN, J.] The Writ Petitioner seeks a direction for measuring and demarcating the property in Survey Nos.112 & 125, Manthithoppu, Kovilpatti Taluk, Thoothukudi District into plots as per the proceeding of the 4th respondent in Na.Ka.No.A1/4171/2006 dated https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
30.06.2017 and in Na.Ka.A1/59/2006 dated 18.11.2009 and handing over the same to the beneficiaries.
2.The case of the writ petitioner is that they are beneficiaries under grant of patta for the landless poor in Manthithoppu village, Kovilpatti Taluk. It is seen as early as in the year 2009 free patta was granted for a very large number of persons. The grant of patta remains only on paper. Unless the allotted land is demarcated into separate plots and individual applications are issued to the beneficiaries. The entire exercise remains only on paper. Even though representations were submitted to the authorities, the same has not been acted upon. The matter should not brook any further delay.
3.We direct the 4th respondent to measure and demarcate the allotted sites and also handover the same to the identified beneficiaries. The beneficiaries shall also be given individual pattas. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The 4th respondent is also directed to send a compliance report to the registry.
4.The writ petition stands allowed.
No costs.
