*********** [Order of the Court was made by G.R.SWAMINATHAN, J.] The manner of conducting the Aadi temple festival of Velli Malayandi temple in Sambiranaipatti Village, is giving rise to communal disputes. It appears that there is a practice of giving honour to the sixth respondent known as 'Muthali Mariyadhai'. The petitioner is said to receive, what is known as 'Nattamai Mariyadhai'. Similarly such honors are given to few other individuals. A Peace Committee Meeting was convened to resolve the dispute. Aggrieved by the proceedings dated 28.07.2017, this Writ Petition came to be filed before this Court.

2. This Court called upon the parties to amicably resolve the disputes. Thereafter, the petitioner and the sixth respondent filed a joint memo dated 11.08.2017 and the same is taken on record. It is made clear that the disposal of this writ petition on the basis of the joint memo dated 11.08.2017 cannot be taken as affixing the seal of approval to what is stated in the joint memo. It is open to any one concerned with this dispute to move the appropriate Court or forum to resolve their claims.

3. The petitioner herein, who came forward with this writ petition, challenging the Peace Committee proceedings, has chosen to amicably resolve the matter by accepting the stand of the sixth respondent. Therefore, no further adjudication is necessary in this writ petition.

4. The Writ Petition stands disposed of with the above observations. No Costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
