ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed seeking to Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission and protection for conducting Shri Mahamayee Drama on 27.04.2026 at 10.00 PM and for the annual festival in front of Arulmigu Shri Muthumariamman Temple of Melapachakudi, Viralimalai Taluk, Pudukkottai District and permission and protection for conducting the aforesaid festival from 26.04.2026 to 28.04.2026 by considering the petitioner's registered representation dated 20.04.2026.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that a representation has been given by the petitioner on 20.04.2026 by registered post, at about 1:30 p.m. Within two days, this Writ Petition has 2/5

been filed on 20.04.2026 and the matter is taken up today on 21.04.2026.

3. Having not given a proper time for the respondents to consider the representation, the petitioner had hurried to file this petition on the same date of representation.

4.The learned counsel for the petitioner justified the same by stating that earlier on 17/4/2026, they have given a complaint to the respondent police in person, on which date the respondent police had conducted an enquiry and required the petitioner to get the permission of the Court for the conduct of the same and he also placed before me the written undertaking given by the petitioner before the second respondent police.

5. In this regard, the second respondent police is directed to put the petitioner as well as Ramasamy, Son of Rangasamy, on notice under Section 64 of BNSS and required them to appear on 25.04.2026 for enquiry and if a consensus is arrived at between both the parties, the petitioner may be directed to conduct Mahamayi drama on the eve of the 3/5

Temple festival in Arulmigu Shri Muthumariamman Temple of Melapachakudi, Viralimalai Taluk, Pudukkottai District on 27.04.2026 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
