O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to consider the representation dated 12.09.2020 submitted by the petitioner.

2. A perusal of the said representation shows that the petitioner has participated in the selection process in response to a notification bearing Na.Ka.No.V4/42198/2019, dated 09.11.2019 for direct recruitment to the post of Record Clerk. The selection process commenced, pursuant to the said notification, could not be concluded due to onset of COVID-19 pandemic and therefore, the petitioner claims to have submitted a representation dated 12.09.2020 requesting the respondents to conclude the selection process that had already been commenced under the above said notification.

3. The respondent has filed a counter affidavit stating that general instructions have been issued for continuing the process of selection that was stalled due to onset of COVID-19 pandemic. 2/4

4. However, when the matter is taken up for consideration, it is submitted by the learned Additional Government Pleader that the notification pursuant to which the petitioner has participated in the selection process was cancelled and a fresh notification was issued in Na.Ka.V6/52865/2023, dated 12.10.2023 for the very same post and the selection process is at the final stage.

5. In view of the fact that previous notification under which the petitioner made an application for selection was already cancelled, the cause in the Writ Petition does not survive. This Writ Petition is accordingly dismissed as infructuous. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. There shall be no order as to costs. 19.02.2024 NCC : Yes/No Index : Yes/No Internet : Yes /No vsm 3/4
