Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent police to register a case and conduct a free and fair investigation based on the representation / complaint dated 17.06.2017 based on the Judgement rendered by the Constitutional Bench of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in Lalithakumari vs. State of U.P Reported in 2014(2) SCC 1.

This Writ petition has been filed, seeking a direction to the respondents to register an FIR based on the complaint given by the petitioner and also to investigate the same. 2.Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that based on the complaint given by the petitioner, enquiry is going on in CSR No.358 of 2017 on the file of the second respondent police.

3.In view of the above submission, the second respondent is directed to expedite enquiry and complete the same within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, as per the dictum laid down by the Hon'ble Apex Court in Lalitha Kumari vs. Govt. of U.P & others [2013 (4) Crimes 243 (SC). https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4.The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
