PRAYER: Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to issue persons studied in Tamil Medium (PSTM) Certificate to the Petitioner within the time as stipulated by this Court. ORDER

The petitioner has come up with the present writ petition, seeking a direction to the respondents to issue persons studied in Tamil Medium (PSTM) Certificate to the Petitioner. 2.By consent of both parties the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. 3.The case of the petitioner is that she is an Advocate, practising in Madras High Court and she studied five years Law Course at Government Law College, Madurai, from 2003 to 2008 and completed it on 14.08.2008.

4.The petitioner would claim that she had studied and appeared in all examinations in Tamil language and had undergone the B.L., degree course in Tamil language. She has now passed TNPSC Group - I preliminary examination and the main examination will be held from 13.10.2017.

5.The petitioner would further state that the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has directed her to send the PSTM certificate and therefore she has approached the respondents and also submitted representation dated 03.08.2017 to issue PSTM certificate to her. Since no favourable order was passed, she filed the present writ petition.

6.The petitioner would further claim that the issue involved in this writ petition is covered by the judgment of the Division Bench of this Court, in the case of, "T. Sergia Bindu Vs. Secretary to the Government, Home (Courts -I), Department, Government of Tamil Nadu and others, reported in (2013) 4 MLJ, 433.

7.Heard Ms.M.Venmani, party in person and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

8. In the light of the facts of the case, this Court directs the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 03.08.2017 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, keeping in mind the decision cited supra, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of two weeks form the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

9.With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No Costs.
