ORDER
The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent Nos.1 and 4 not to permit the private respondent Nos.5 to 11 and their men to conduct the Temple Festival in the Tamil Month of Vaikasi in the temple namely Sri Mariyamman, Sri Jakkalamman and Sri Mallaaiyan Mayavan Kovil situated at North Mettupatti, Vellaiyanai 2/5
Thenpagam Village, Karur District by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 28.03.2025.
2.The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1 to 3 submitted that already a peace committee meeting was held on 02.05.2025 and it was resolved not to conduct the temple festival until the disposal of the suit in O.S.No.303 of 2024 on the file of the District Munsif Court, Karur. 3.The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that he is not having any objections to conduct the daily prayers in the temple. 4.Considering the rival submissions, this Court is of the considered opinion that since law and order problem is involved in the present case, based on the resolution passed in the peace committee meeting, the official respondents are directed to restrain the private respondents 5 to 11 and also the petitioner from conducting any temple festival until the disposal of the suit in O.S.No.303 of 2024 on the file of the District Munsif Court, Karur. However, it is made clear that the daily prayers can go on.
5.With the above observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
