O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of Writ of Mandamus seeking direction against the fifth respondent to sanction the medical reimbursement amount of Rs.97,322/- (Rupees Ninety Seven Thousand Three Hundred and Twenty Two only) to the petitioner as per the proceedings of the second respondent in e.f.vz;. 4996/k.F/2020 dated 31.01.2023.

Mr.A.Rajaram, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner's wife undergone treatment for diabetics at Madurai City Hospital, 7th respondent and the medical expenses incurred to the tune of Rs.97,322/-. In this regard, the petitioner made a representation dated 10.08.2022 to the second respondent seeking for medical reimbursement. Having considered the petitioner's representation, the second respondent vide proceedings dated 31.01.2023 directed the fifth respondent to process the petitioner's claim for medical reimbursement. Since no action has been taken for reimbursement, the petitioner approached this Court by way of filing this Writ Petition.

3. Despite the recommendation given by the District Level Empowered committee and the second respondent has forwarded the proposal, the fifth respondent has not considered the same. Therefore, the fifth respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's claim for medical reimbursement and pass orders in accordance with the scheme within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 11.06.2024 NCC:yes/no Index:yes/no Internet:yes/no Nsr 4/6
