O R D E R

The petitioner with a grievance that his representation dated 11.06.2024 for conducting a Public meeting for civic awareness at Mydeenpuram, Madhavalayam, Kanyakumari District on 28.06.2024 has not been considered by the respondents has approached this Court.

2.The petitioner is the President of Tamilnadu Tawheed Jamaat Madhavalayam Branch, which is a registered social service Organization. The Jamath campaigns against usury, abstinence from alcohol, untouchability, adultery etc, and also conducting medical camps and creating awareness among the people about the importance of education for the welfare of the Society. Apart from that, the Jamath is running an orphange also. In continuation of the above welfare activities, the petitioner Jamath proposed to conduct a public meeting for civic awareness at Mydeenpuram, Madhavalayam, Kanyakumari District on 28.06.2024. Seeking permission for conducting a public meeting, they have submitted a 2/5

representation to the respondents. However, the same has not been considered by the respondents. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.

3.Mr.E.Antony Sahaya Prabahar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor takes notice for the respondents and submits that there are two rival groups in the above said Jamath and therefore they have not taken any decision on the representation of the petitioner for conducting a public meeting.

4.Considering the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent police to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 11.06.2024 positively. On the objections raised by one group, permission for conducting the meeting by the other group cannot be denied. No costs.
