O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to the order provide employment of the petitioner or her daughter Muthumagalakshmi on compassionate grounds due to the demise of the petitioners husband Madhavan at once.

2.Heard the learned counsel for the parties.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner's husband Madhavan was appointed as Driver in the respondent Corporation in the year 2000 and passed away on 29.01.2016, while in service, leaving behind the petitioner, her daughters and her mother-in-law as his legal heirs. The grievance of the petitioner is that although she submitted an application dated 04.08.2016, seeking appointment on compassionate ground, the same has not been considered till date. In this regard, she submitted a detailed representation dated 26.11.2018 to the second respondent. As no action was taken on the said representation, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition before this Court. 2/5

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner would further submit that the petitioner would be satisfied if a direction is issued to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 26.11.2018 and pass appropriate orders thereon, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

5. Considering the above facts and circumstances, without going into the merits of the case, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents, to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 26.11.2018 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of hearing. Such exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is also made clear that this Court has not expressed any of its views with regard to the merits of the matter and that it is open to the respondents to consider the same on its own merits. No costs.
