O R D E R

This Writ petition is filed for issuing a Writ of Mandamus seeking a direction to the respondents herein to grant permission and protection to conduct the "Adalum Paadalum"dance programme on 14.08.2017 from 07.00 p.m to 11.00 p.m in pursuant to the Krishna Jeyandhi festival at Pilluchery, Madurai East Taluk, Madurai by considering the petitioner's representation dated 09.08.2017.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3. Considering the fact that the programme is fixed on 14.08.2017 and the petitioner has got some grievance to change the date, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's claim, this Court is inclined to pass the following direction:

"The respondent police shall consider the representation of the petitioner dated 09.08.2017 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, keeping in mind the interest of public and the responsibility of respondent to maintain law and order."

4. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.

5. The petitioner shall pay a cost of Rs.2,000/-(Rupees Two Thousand only) to the credit of the Hon'ble Chief Justice Relief Fund, Madurai Bench of Madras High Court, Madurai, by today before 4.30 p.m, failing which, the order copy shall not be furnished today.
