2. The petitioner is presently pursuing third year MBBS degree course in Sivagangai Medical College. He is holding passport. He wants it to be re-issued by making certain changes. The petitioner claims that his date of birth was wrongly entered. Now the correct date of birth has been clarified by the second respondent. Therefore, there is no impediment in correcting the petitioner's date of birth as 21.01.2002. However, there is some issue regarding entering the petitioner's mother's name. In the passport, the petitioner's mother's name has been mentioned as K.Muthulakshmi. Even though there are discrepancies in the other documents, this can be ignored. The first respondent is directed to re-issue the passport to the petitioner in the manner sought for by the petitioner. This writ petition stands allowed.
