PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation dated 14.09.2020 in the public interest also in view of the Honourable Supreme Court guidelines to scrutinize all the engineers required to have a regular degree qualification or qualification equivalent to that which is recognized by AICTE and take necessary steps to suspend all the advantages given to those who were or are enjoying with a degree qualification in engineering not equivalent to degrees of regular stream for the purpose of employment in public services or for promotion or for other career advancement.

[Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.] This writ petition is filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to consider the representation dated 14.09.2020 in the public interest also in view of the Honourable Supreme Court guidelines to scrutinize all the engineers required to 2/5

have a regular degree qualification or qualification equivalent to that which is recognized by AICTE and take necessary steps to suspend all the advantages given to those who were or are enjoying with a degree qualification in engineering not equivalent to degrees of regular stream for the purpose of employment in public services or for promotion or for other career advancement.

2. The Omnibus prayer as such sought for cannot be granted. In the event of a specific complaint regarding an ineligible or fraudulent certificate/degree, then the above authorities will be in a position to initiate appropriate action. The petitioner is at liberty to submit a specific complaint for initiation of the action, if required.

3. With the above liberty, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
