Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the second respondent to consider the petitioner's appeal dated 19.02.2025 on the file of the 2nd respondent within the time stipulated by this Court and further direct the 2nd respondent to conduct the survey in view of the corrected patta and other revenue documents.

ORDER
The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the second respondent to consider the appeal filed by him dated 19.02.2025, seeking cancellation of patta issued in the name of the sixth respondent in respect of the property situated in S.No.624/2, Paramankurichi Village, Tiruchendur Taluk, Thoothukudi District.
2. According to the petitioner, the above mentioned property belongs to Highways Department and the same has been wrongly entered in the revenue records in the name of the sixth respondent. Therefore, he filed an appeal on 19.02.2025 seeking cancellation of patta issued in the name of the sixth respondent and restoration of patta in the name of Highways. The same has not been considered. Hence the petitioner has come before this Court. 2/4
3. Heard both sides. With the consent of both parties, this petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
4. Mr.A.Baskaran, learned Additional Government Pleader who takes notice for respondents 1 to 5 would submit that the appeal filed by the petitioner will be considered on its own merits within the time stipulated by this Court.
5. Without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, the second respondent is directed to consider the appeal filed by the petitioner dated 19.02.2025 and pass final orders on its own merits within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after issuing necessary notice to the petitioner, the sixth respondent and the Highways Department.
6. With this direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition stands closed. No costs. 03.06.2025 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes/ No pnn 3/4
