ORDER

This criminal original petition has been filed seeking for a direction to direct the respondent to complete the investigation in Crime No.165 of 2021 dated 12.05.2021 on the file of the respondent and file a final report

2. The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner was cheated by her neighbour, namely, Malathi @ Kamatchi and Srinivasan. The said persons demanded some money to the tune of Rs.8,00,000/- from the petitioner for investment and assured the petitioner that they would return the money with 10% to 20% on investments. Being satisfied with their words, the petitioner paid the amount of Rs.8,00,000/- (Rupees Eight Lakhs only) to the persons, namely, Malathi @ Kamatchi and Srinivasan. Since the said person not acted accordingly, the petitioner demanded to return his money. However, they failed to return the amount. In this regard, the petitioner lodged a complaint before the respondent Police and an F.I.R was registered in Crime No.165 of 2021 dated 12.05.2021 for the offences under Sections 294(b), 506(1), 420 IPC. Since the respondent Police has not completed the investigation and has not filed a final report, this Criminal Original Petition has been filed.

The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) submitted that based on the complaint lodged by the petitioner, the respondent police registered an FIR in Crime No.165 of 2021 and for the same, investigation is in progress. Hence, he seeks one month time to file final report before the jurisdictional Magistrate Court.

4. Recording the same, the respondent police is directed to file final report before the jurisdictional Magistrate Court, within a period of one (1) month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this criminal original petition stands disposed of.
