This Writ Petition has been filed for issuing a direction to the respondents to grant permission and protection to conduct Kida Muttu (Goat Fight) scheduled to be held on 15.07.2023 at Thenpalanji Village, Madurai South Taluk, Madurai District, by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 17.05.2023.

2. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondents police would submit that the said representation is pending before the 2nd respondent and the same will be forwarded to the Assistant Director of Animal Husbandry, Madurai for appropriate action.

3. In view of the above said submission, the Assistant Director of Animal Husbandry, Madurai is directed to dispose the above said representation, dated 17.05.2023 within a week from the date of receiving the said representation from the 2nd respondent. 2/4

4. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
