[Order of the Court was made by K.KALYANASUNDARAM, J.] This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed by the father of the detenue, by name, Priyanga, aged about 20 years, seeking a 1/3
direction to the respondents 1 to 3 to produce the detenue before this Court and set her at liberty.
2. Heard Mr.AN.Ramanathan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, Mr.K.Dinesh Babu, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 1 to 3 and Mr.R.Narayanan, learned counsel appearing for the respondents 5 to 7. 3.It is the case of the petitioner that the detenue viz., his daughter is studying B.Sc., at Poondi College and she is missing from 29.09.2020. Despite the complaint and registration of the case in Crime No.818 of 2020, no appropriate action was taken by the respondent police.
4.Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the detenue and the fourth respondent appeared through video conferencing from the Public Prosecutor Office and on enquiry, it is informed that the detenue married the fourth respondent on 03.06.2020 at Devanodai village in Papanasam Taluk, Thanjavur District, however, she continued to live with her father, since the marriage was not properly registered, in view of Covid-19 situation. It is further informed that she left the house on 29.09.2020 on her own volition. It is also stated that the detenue is married and aged about 20 years.
