O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing to provide adequate police protection to perform the posariship and worship in the Arulmigu Muthu Muneeswarar Temple of Malaiyur Village on 06.08.2022 to 08.08.2022 by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 14.05.2022.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that after the demise of petitioner's father, the petitioner was appointed as Posaari of the Temple, namely, Arulmigu Muthu Muneeswarar Temple situated at Malaiyur Village. The suit in O.S.No.585 of 2018 was filed for the relief of declaration to declare the petitioner as the hereditary Poosari of aforesaid Temple and the dispute in the suit was amicably settled and compromise decree was passed on 18.12.2018 before the Lok Adalat in Case No.21 of 2018. Due to the lockdown at the time of pandemic situation, the festival was not conducted for the last two years. In this regard, the petitioner gave a representation dated 14.05.2022 to the 2/5

respondents for conducting temple festival. But, no action was taken by the respondent Police. Hence, the present Writ Petition has been filed.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), appearing for the respondent police would submit that the respondents have received the representation of the petitioner and the same is pending for consideration.

4. Therefore, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 14.05.2022 within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No cost.
