Respondents Prayer: Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to conduct election to the second respondent Sangam namely "Maduraiyil Sivakasi Nadargal Uravinmurai" to be held on 10.07.2022 in accordance with Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act and Rules by appointing a retired District Judge or an Advocate as Election Officer for a fair and free election by considering his representation dated 18.06.2022 within the period stipulated by this Court.

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The petitioner is a member of the second respondent Society. The second respondent Society has issued notification for holding the election for electing the office bearers of the society on 10.07.2022. The petitioner is also one of the candidates. The petitioner wants this Court to appoint an election officer so that the election process will be conducted smoothly.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the second respondent has no objection for this Court to appoint an election officer.

4. Since there is consensus on either side, I appoint Mr.V.Shathurthi Raja (Enrollment No.2723/2019) & Ms.Vedavalli (Enrollment No.7780/21) as election officers to conduct the petition mentioned election. The Sangam shall pay a consolidated remuneration of Rs.15,000/- each to the said election officers. 2/4
