Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The only request made by the petitioner is that his representation for promotion for the post of Associate Professor should be considered on merits and in accordance with law.

3. The second respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's request and pass appropriate order within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. I make it clear that I have not gone into the merits of the matter.

4. This writ petition is disposed of accordingly. There shall be no order as to costs.
