This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to permit to conduct the Sri Muniaiyya Kovil Festival in connection with Vada Maadu Manchu Virattu Scheduled on 31.08.2017 at Sevalkanmai, A.Velangkulam Panchayat, Susaiyappar Pattinam, Kalaiyarkovil Taluk, Sivagangai District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 07.08.2017.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

3.The learned Counsel for the petitioner states that he has given a representation on 07.08.2017 to conduct Vada Maadu Manchu Viratu. This Court has held in a similar case, that permission may be granted by the respondent police provided, the place, in which the event is organized and the date are notified by the State Government so as to enable the District Collector to grant permission subject to the satisfaction of other conditions.
4. Considering the limited scope of the request of the learned counsel for the Writ petitioner, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Court is inclined to issue the following direction:- "The first respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 07.08.2017 on or before 28.08.2017 on merits and in accordance with law."
5. Accordingly, the Writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
