O R D E R

*********** [Order of the Court was made by K.K.SASIDHARAN, J.] The petitioner filed this Writ Petition to direct the respondents 1 to 4 to initiate appropriate action against the sixth respondent on account of her misappropriation of public funds.

2. The learned Special Government Pleader produced a copy of the preliminary enquiry registration report dated 29 May, 2017 indicating that the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department has already initiated criminal proceedings against the sixth respondent. The Block Development Officer appears to have submitted the relevant papers to the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department on 10 August, 2017.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has already been examined by the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department.

4. In view of the subsequent events, we do not find any reason to issue a Mandamus as prayed for by the petitioner. We hope that the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department would take follow-up action in accordance with law.

5. The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above observation. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
