ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent University to award and disburse forthwith the Selection Grade Pay to the petitioners in the post of System Programmer w.e.f. 01.04.2018 by considering their representations dated 09.11.2018, 26.06.2019, 10.08.2020 and 11.02.2021 within a reasonable time as may be stipulated by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent.

3. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 1/3

4.According to the petitioners, they were completed 10 years of service in the post of System Programmer on 31.03.2018 and they were entitled for selection grade pay to the said post w.e.f., 01.04.2008. The respondent University has not considered the petitioners for selection grade pay on completion of 10 years of service in the post of System Programmer. Therefore, the petitioners made representation to the respondent on 09.11.2018 requesting to consider them for awarding selection grade pay to the post of System Programmer. Subsequently, the petitioners made representations on 26.06.2019, 10.08.2020 & 11.02.2021 to the respondent. However, no orders have been passed by the respondent. Therefore, the petitioners have come forward before this Court by filing the present writ petition.

5.The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent would submit that petitioners representations would be considered and appropriate orders will be passed in accordance with law. 6.Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, and also considering the limited scope of prayer as sought by the petitioners, without expressing any opinion on merit, this Court directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representations dated 09.11.2018 on merits and pass an appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and the decision taken shall be communicated to the petitioners.

7. With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
