O R D E R

The petitioner has come forward with this Writ Petition for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus seeking a direction to the Respondent herein to look in to the grievance of the petitioner expressed in the representation dated 21.08.2017 and thereby grant permission to conduct the "Cricket Tournament" by "Friends Cricket Association" Scheduled to be held on 25.08.2017 to 27.08.2017 and 02.09.2017 & 03.09.2017 to the memorable event of "Cricket Tournament" at "G.P.T.Ground, Anna Circuit, Barathiyar Nagar, Sivankovil, Trichy District.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner and his team decided to conduct Cricket Tournament on 25.08.2017 to 27.08.2017 and 02.09.2017 & 03.09.2017 at "G.P.T.Ground, Anna Circuit, Barathiyar Nagar, Sivankovil, Trichy District. He further submitted that the Cricket Tournament is at the village level and this is purely to promote sports. In this connection, a representation was given to the respondents on 21.08.2017, with a request to grant permission for conducting the Cricket Tournament in the above said dates. hence, the petitioner is before this Court with this Writ Petition.

3. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that there is no objection for the petitioner to conduct 'Cricket Tournament' on 25.08.2017 to 27.08.2017 and 02.09.2017 & 03.09.2017.

4. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

5. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case, the Writ Petition is disposed of with the following direction:

The respondent/Inspector of Police, Thuvakudimalai Police Station, Trichy District, is directed consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 21.08.2017 and to give permission to the petitioner and the organizers, for conducting Cricket Tournament in "G.P.T.Ground, Anna Circuit, Barathiyar Nagar, Sivankovil, Trichy District, on 25.08.2017 to 27.08.2017 and 02.09.2017 & 03.09.2017 subject to any reasonable restrictions that may be imposed by the second respondent in the interest of public and to preserve the law and order.

No costs.
