Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the first respondent.

2. Considering the nature of relief to be granted, issuance of notice to R2 to R5 is dispensed with.

3. The petitioner is a senior citizen aged about 82 years. She is the mother of R2 & R3. She has sought the reliefs of maintenance as well as the cancellation of the settlement deed.

4. In the very nature of things, such a petition must be disposed of speedily. The first respondent is directed to dispose of the petition mentioned petition on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. I make it 2/4

clear that I have not gone into the merits of the matter. The first respondent will have to necessarily hear all the interested persons, particularly, the private respondents herein before passing the final order.
