O R D E R

The petitioner challenges the proceedings of the Chief Educational Officer, Tirunelveli dated 30.04.2025, in and by which the petitioners have been placed under suspension, pending enquiry into grave charges against them. It is the specific case of the petitioners that no enquiry has been conducted and the impugned orders came to be passed.

2.Learned Government Advocate for the respondent submits that several serious charges have been levelled against the petitioner and only considering the same, suspension orders have been passed.

3.I have gone through the impugned orders.

4.Admittedly, the impugned orders of suspension are only interim measures, pending enquiry into grave charges. At the same time, the enquiry proceedings cannot be at the will and pleasure of the respondent. Thus, it would be suffice to direct the respondent to appoint an enquiry officer and conclude the enquiry, within a period of six [6] weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/5

5.Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
