Heard the learned counsel appearing for writ petitioner and the learned Assistant Solicitor General of India appearing for the respondent.
2. The petitioner challenges the show cause notice dated 03.08.2017 issued by the respondent. In the show cause notice, it has been mentioned that the petitioner had suppressed material information when applying for renewal of passport. In the counter affidavit, it has been clearly mentioned that Crime No.558 of 2006 registered on the file Marthandam police station against the writ petitioner, culminated into C.C.No.17 of 2007. Without making a mention about the pending criminal trial, the petitioner had obtained renewal of passport. Therefore, the respondent was justified in issuing the impugned show cause notice. No case for interference has been made out. This writ petition stands dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
