ORDER
This Writ Petition is filed seeking Writ of Mandamus by directing the respondents to award adequate police protection for the Chithirai Thiruvizha Celebration Scheduled to be taken place from 26.04.2026 till 13.05.2026 at Arulmigu Sri Muthumariamman Kovil, Kurichi, Pattukottai Taluk, Thanjavur District, on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 10.04.2026.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is the president of Arulmigu Sri Muthumariamman Kovil Trust, which is organizing and conducting the temple festival every year. The petitioner anticipates certain untoward incident from the persons namely K.Manickavasan and K.Sudhanthiravasan. Hence, he had made a representation to the respondent police to afford necessary police protection for the conduct of the Chithiral Thiruvizha Celebration in the aforesaid temple, scheduled to be held on 26.04.2026 till 13.05.2026 and hence his petition.

3. Heard either sides and carefully perused the materials available on record.

The second respondent police is directed to issue summons to the petitioner as well as K.Manickavasan and K.Sudhanthiravasan under Section 64 of BNSS, forthwith and thereafter conduct an enquiry and facilitate the petitioner Trust from conducting the temple festival as scheduled and afford necessary police protection on payment of necessary fee to the police in terms of G.O.Ms.No.139 Home(Pol.VIII) Department dated 04.03.2019.
5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
