This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of writ of mandamus, seeking direction against the respondent to take into record the petitioner's reply and pass order in Show Cause Notice bearing File No: MD2079551760116 dated 23.07.2018 pending before the respondent and issue Passport No.P1794769 to the petitioner.

2. Heard Mr.R.A.Senapathi learned counsel for the petitioner and Mrs.M.Anbarasi, learned Standing Counsel for the respondent.

3. The petitioner's grievance is that the show cause notice issued way back on 23.07.2018, remains pending without any progress.

4. Considering the limited relief sought for in the writ petition, without going into the merits of the petitioner's entitlement, this Court directs the respondents to conduct an enquiry, after affording a fair opportunity to the petitioner and pass final orders in the pending proceedings in File No: MD2079551760116 dated 23.07.2018, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of 6 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4

5. With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
