Heard Mr.K.Sudalaiyandi, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mrs.S.Jeyapriya, learned Government Advocate for the respondents 1 & 2 and Mr.V.R.Shanmuganathan, learned counsel for the 3rd respondent.

The petitioner seeks issuance of writ of mandamus, to direct the 3rd respondent to permit the petitioner to perform the Mandagapadi at Nacharammal Mandagapadi, Alwarpuram, Madurai on 12.05.2025 during the arrival and return of Lord Kallagar in the auspicious Chithirai Festival. The petitioner is willing to pay the Mandagapadi fees for the year 2025 and in that regard, he has also given representation on 24.03.2025. 2/5

3. Mr.V.R.Shanmuganathan, learned Standing Counsel for the 3rd respondent on instructions would submit that the fit person has already been appointed 5 years back and the 1st respondent is seized of the revision in R.P.No.198 of 2022.

4. In light of the above, no relief as prayed for by the writ petitioner can be granted in the writ petition. However, a direction is issued to the 1st respondent to conduct a due enquiry and dispose of the petitioner's revision in R.P. No. 198 of 2022 within a period of six (6) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
