ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by A.D.JAGADISH CHANDIRA,J.) The present Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondents to produce the body or person of the petitioner's daughter, namely, Swetha, aged about 23 years, before this Court.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that his daughter, namely, Swetha, aged about 23 years, was missing from 28.05.2024 and despite the complaint, since no action has been taken, the present Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed.

3. Mr.RMS.Sethuraman, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who takes notice for the respondents, would submit that the petitioner's daughter, Swetha had a love affair with one Vincent of Panangulam for the past seven years and since it was objected to by the petitioner and his family members, she has gone along with the said Vincent on 28.05.2024 and got married at Madurai Thallakulam Perumal Temple. Since there was a threat to their life from their family members, she has also given a complaint seeking police

protection to the Inspector of Police, All Women Police Station, Thallakulam, Madurai. Based on the said complaint, enquiry was conducted in CSR No.606/2024. During such time, the wife of the petitioner appeared for enquiry and that the alleged missing person has also handed over the jewels back to her, however, her mother has refused to give a statement and acknowledgement for the jewels. The alleged missing person has also given a statement that she has attained majority and she wishes to live with her husband. Hence, the alleged missing person is not under illegal detention.

4. Recording the above submission, finding that the alleged missing person is aged about 23 years and that she is not under illegal detention, the Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed.
