: Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's application dated 22.12.2014 for my younger son namely G.Mohanraj under the compassionate appointment in the TANGEDCO and dispose my application within the stipulated time.

*********** By consent of both parties, this Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
2.The petitioner is the wife of late K.Ganesan, who died while serving as Wireman in the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, Thevathanapatti, Theni District on 28.06.2004, leaving behind his two children namely G.Rajeswari and G.Mohanraj and the petitioner as the legal heirs. Immediately after the demise of the petitioner's husband, an application was made by the petitioner on 21.04.2006, before the respondents seeking Compassionate Ground appointment for her son. But, the second respondent passed a rejection order stating that the petitioner's son has not completed 7th Standard and that there is no rule to provide appointment to people who have not completed 8th standard. 3.Subsequently, the petitioner's son completed 10th standard in March 2013 and also completed Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering course on 11.03.2016. petitioner again made a representation to the respondents on 22.12.2014. Eventhough, a letter was issued by the first respondent on 12.01.2015 to the second respondent to take appropriate action for granting Compassionate Ground appointment to the petitioner's son, till date no effort has been taken. Therefore, the petitioner has come to this court with the present writ petition.
4.Mrs.Srimathy for Mr.S.M.S. Johnny Basha, learned standing counsel appearing for the respondents sought four weeks time to consider the representation of the petitioner. 5.Recording the statement made by the learned Standing counsel, this Court without going into the merits of the matter hereby directs the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6.This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
