O R D E R

*********** [Order of the Court was made by K.K.SASIDHARAN, J.] The petitioner filed this Writ Petition to issue a Writ of Mandamus, forbearing the respondents from appointing Anganvadi Workers and Helpers, pursuant to the proceedings issued by the first respondent dated 21 July, 2017.

2. The first respondent initiated proceedings for appointment to the post of Anganvadi Workers and Helpers. The first respondent appears to have issued Press statement as early as on 10 August, 2017, calling for applications. The petitioner, for reasons best known, failed to take any action immediately thereafter. It was only just one day before the interview, the petitioner has come up with this Writ Petition.

3. The learned Special Government Pleader, on instructions taken from the District Project Officer, Integrated Child Development Scheme, Trichirappalli, submitted that the administration has issued call letters to more than 7,000 candidates and the interview is scheduled to be held on 31 August, 2017 and 01 September, 2017.

4. The petitioner ought to have filed the Writ Petition sufficiently earlier, so as to enable the respondents to defend the proceedings. In case this Court interferes in the selection process at this point of time, it would cause considerable difficulties to the applicants. We, therefore, do not find any reason to entertain this Writ Petition at the eleventh hour. We, therefore, dismiss the Writ Petition. However, we make it clear that this order would not stand in the way of the aggrieved candidates challenging the selection. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
